About Chemical Peels
Chemical peel treatments are recommended to help decrease skin abnormalities like wrinkles, fine lines, scars, rough patches, hyperpigmentation issues, and more. Chemical peels clear away dead, damaged skin cells, which cause the surface layer to peel off. As your skin heals and begins to rejuvenate and repair itself, you may notice a clearer, smoother complexion. A chemical peel treatment is a noninvasive technique to make your skin radiant and is used for both the neck and face.
Variations of Chemical Peels
At Artisan 57, we perform chemical peels at various levels of strength (light, medium, and deep) to meet our patients' skin care goals.
Illuminize Peel: You can have a light chemical peel during your lunchtime and return back to your day. This level of peel will remove the top skin layer (the epidermis), giving your face a brighter appearance and softer texture. We typically suggest that you receive a light chemical peel about once a month for continued glowing results.
Vitalize Peel: The Vitalize Peel at Artisan 57 reaches deeper into your skin, and you may prefer to plan to do this facial rejuvenation treatment over the weekend. Medium-depth peels are designed for patients who have damage to their skin including melasma, signs of aging, wrinkles, and pigmentation issues to correct.
Rejuvenize Peel: The most advanced of the three types of chemical peels is the Rejuvenize Peel, which will require the lengthiest recovery time. This rejuvenating procedure that can leave your face peeling for 4-6 days. Patients who get a deep peel typically have dark age spots, sun-damaged skin, or melasma.
Chemical Peel Reviews
"Everyone at Artisan 57 has made me feel so comfortable and welcome! I love that they answer all of my questions and give great advice. I visited Artisan 57 for a skin consultation and learned the best ways to care for my skin—plus I found what's now my go-to lineup of medical-grade products. My favorite experience at Artisan 57 was a chemical peel. They recommended it to me after my consultation and were upfront about how long it would take my skin to heal afterwards. I was blown away by the way the peel made my skin feel, and even more impressed with the Artisans. I always leave Artisan 57 feeling great and can't wait to be back!"- A.P. / Google / Jan 14, 2017
One of the Artisans will assess your skin before recommending a chemical peel that is right for your skin type and condition. Chemical peel candidates, both women and men, should have noticeable concerns on their skin including rough patches, hyperpigmentation, flaky skin, sun spots, fine lines, wrinkles, and much more. We may suggest varying strengths of chemical peels and other treatments to match your goals.
During your appointment, we will have you seated in a relaxed position to administer your peel. We will make sure your skin is cleansed before applying the customized solution to the treatment area. We will spread the solution onto your skin and let it set for a specific amount of time, which will be discussed during your treatment. A sunscreen will be applied to your skin afterwards for protection.
What to Expect
Depending on the strength of the chemical peel you receive, you can expect the treated area to itch and peel for a few days or up to a week. We will talk about ways to care for your skin during your procedure and a kit of products will be sent home with you to use during the peeling process.
